The Indigenous Family Justice Support (IFJS) Program at Sasamans Society offers culturally grounded, compassionate support to Indigenous families navigating the family justice system. Whether you’re going through a separation, facing parenting or child welfare challenges, or needing help with court paperwork we’re here to support you every step of the way.
We provide family mediation sessions directly through our program and hands on support with completing family law forms. Our goal is to help families resolve issues in a peaceful, respectful way while avoiding the stress, cost, and length of court wherever possible.
We Can Support You With:
• Understanding your rights and options in family law
• Navigating issues such as separation, divorce, guardianship, parenting time, and child/spousal support
• Participating in family mediation sessions facilitated by our in house Family Mediator
• Filling out and submitting family law forms, including applications and agreements
• Preparing for court or mediation
• Accessing legal information, referrals, and culturally safe support services
